Matthew A. Brauer
Matthew Brauer has handled matters throughout the State of Michigan for almost 30 years. He has specialized in employment matters, personal injuries, public housing, civil rights discrimination, whistleblower/retaliation claims and motor vehicle accidents. This has involved representation of governmental agencies, employers, landlords, private companies and motor vehicle owners in a wide variety of civil litigation matters.
Mr. Brauer’s practice has included all phases of litigation including pretrial discovery, trials, state and federal appeals, arbitrations and unfair labor practice claims. Outside of litigation, he has consulted with various governmental entities and businesses regarding an array of employment, risk-management and labor-related issues. He has also conducted labor negotiations and collective bargaining.
Mr. Brauer has been named a Michigan “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine. This recognition, based on peer nomination, is achieved by less than 5 percent of the lawyers in Michigan.
Mr. Brauer is a past director of the Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He has presented and conducted legal seminars for attorneys, risk managers and insurance professionals in Washington D.C., Michigan, Vermont, Ohio and Connecticut. He is also a hearing panel member for the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board. He was elected as student government vice president in college, and as director of the moot court program in law school.
Mr. Brauer is licensed and admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Michigan, as well as the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
